Topics and Themes

The event addressed key themes related to aspects of reactive nitrogen in the environment,. In particular, the Open Science Conference had a focus on the role of nitrogen for:

  • Climate change
  • Food security
  • Energy security
  • Ecosystems and biodiversity
  • Human health

In addition to these, the overarching topic of Integrating Nitrogen in Science and Policy were a focus of the conference and workshop for policy stakeholders.

We are grateful for the outstanding keynotes delivered by Prof. Robert Watson, Prof. Jim Galloway, Prof. Paul Crutzen and Prof. Jack Middelburg. You can see more information about the keynotes here.

The following overview shows the sessions, convenors and contact emails. By clicking the Session number (first column), you can access each session and PDF versions of the presentations provided. Please note, that we only provide PDFs of presentations where we have received the explicit go-ahead from the presenting authors. If you would like your presentation to be made available, please let us know at neu@ceh.ac.uk.
